Superintendent Jonathan E. Logan

Superintendent Dr. Jonathan E. Logan was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Lowndes County High School where he was elected senior class president and graduated with honors. Pastor Logan grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. He was an active member in his local church as a Sunday school teacher and choir member.

Immediately after High School, he enrolled in Alabama State University, where he pursued a degree in accounting. Due to financial hardships, he was forced to leave college and enlist in the United States Air Force upon completion of Basic Military training, he was assigned to Beale Air Force Base (AFB), California. After one year he was transferred to March AFB, California where he met the former Christine Wright. After a short courtship, they married in May of 1977 and shortly thereafter transferred to Wheeler AFB, Hawaii; there, they rededicated their lives to the Lord doing the same worship service.

In February of 1980, Elder Logan acted upon his calling and formally entered the gospel ministry. In December 1980, the Logan's transferred to San Antonio, Texas, where they held various positions in their local church and district. In September of 1982, Pastor Logan was ordained as an Elder in the Churches of God in Christ Inc. (COGIC). His pastor, Superintendent Artis Bell, shared with him the Lord had instructed him to speak to the jurisdictional Bishop about ordaining Pastor Logan so that nothing would hinder the call of God upon his life.

In January 1984, he was assigned on a remote assignment at Suwon Air Base (AB) Korea. After that assignment he transferred to Eglin AFB FL where he served as Assistant Pastor of the Eglin Gospel service under the dynamic leadership of COGIC Chaplain Nate Crawford. Also at Eglin AFB, Pastor Logan completed his Bachelor's Degree in Resource Management from Troy State University. In June of 1989, the Logan family transferred to Ramstein AB, Germany, where he served as Assistant Pastor of the Gospel Service. In August of 1993, the Germany Jurisdictional Bishop appointed Elder Logan as Pastor of Maranatha Tabernacle COGIC. Approximately one year later, Bishop Carlis L. Moody appointed him as Chairman of the Germany Jurisdiction Pastors and Elders Council. In August 1994, Elder Logan was reassigned to Luke AFB, Arizona, where he initially served as Associate Minister at Prayer Assembly COGIC. In January 1996, Pastor Logan pioneered Antioch Church of God in Christ. He currently serves as Administrative Assistant to Bishop Harvey T. Young Sr. (the Prelate of the Arizona Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction) and Administrative Assistant to Bishop Bobby Henderson (the Prelate of the Uganda East Africa Jurisdiction).

On 1 May 2010, Pastor Logan was appointed as Superintendent of the Agape Fellowship District, within the COGIC Arizona Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He also serves the jurisdiction as Ordination Board Chairman, responsible for training and examining ministers for ordination as elders. Superintendent Logan is seminary trained, completing his Master of Divinity Degree in 2005, from Phoenix Seminary in Scottsdale AZ, where he now serves as a professor. Superintendent Logan has also had a very successful military career. He was selected the Honor Graduate of his Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Leadership School in 1979. In 1981, he was selected NCO of the Year for the San Antonio Air Logistics Center and Kelly AFB. In 1990, he was the winner of the prestigious Lt. General Leo Marquez Award as the best munitions maintenance manager in the United States Air Forces in Europe. In August 1995, he was promoted to the highest enlisted grade of Chief Master Sergeant. He retired from active duty to enter full-time ministry in June 1999. Chief (Superintendent) Logan's decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation with three oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, The National Defense Service Medal, and the Southwest Asia Campaign Medal with one bronze star. Pastor Logan is married to the former Christine Wright of Greenville, South Carolina.

Cogic Pastor Deaths

Missionary Logan has completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education. She retired from an extremely successful career as an educator in the Peoria AZ School District to support the ministry full time. Pastor and Missionary Logan have two beautiful daughters, Patrice and Rachell. They have also been blessed with four wonderful grandchildren; Michael, Gabriel, Rebecca, and Breanna Logan.
